What is Portugal Smart Cities Summit?

From 21-23 May, Lisbon is hosting the Portugal Smart Cities Summit, an event that brings together experts and representatives from around the world.

Portugal Smart Cities Summit is a unique event that focuses on transformational technologies and new business models that are currently revolutionizing our industry.

This is a very important event in Portugal, as it will have the high institutional support of the President of the Republic, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the Secretary of State for Energy.

The highlights of this initiative are a Technological Showcase and Major Smart Cities Conferences, on a vast array of themes such as intelligent mobility (autonomous and electric vehicles), big data, IoT, climate change, sustainability, digital transformation, urban development, artificial intelligence, Cybersecurity, robotics, and renewable energies.

Who’s it for?

Operators, carriers, technology companies, network enablers, connectivity providers, application developers, service providers (healthcare providers, city administrators, retailers, advertisers, etc.) – essentially, anyone involved in delivering and enabling the infrastructure and applications that will drive the next generation of smart technologies and services.

With more than 7000 expected visitors, 192 exhibitors, 70 startups and 17 municipalities, Portugal Smart Cities has gained dimension and new Challenges are being created for the 2019 edition, an increase not only quantitative but also qualitative, with the presence of speakers internationally renowned in terms of technologies, mobility, development, and research of the constituent network of smart cities.

At the second conference, Ines will present the secret of being a successful woman in technology, as part of the TOP Women in Technology panel. She will also talk about the challenges women and girls face today when they want to pursue a career in STEM.
