Los Angeles (America’s #1 digital city) Beautification Conference

The 2nd Annual Beautification Conference by the Los Angeles Board of Public works, the Office of Community Beautification, and Keep Los Angeles Beautiful were held in America’s #1 digital city, Los Angeles.

The conference took place on May, 18th in Los Angeles City Hall, In Down Tow Los Angeles, where leading local, regional, and national organizations and governmental figures came together to discuss programs and initiatives in several fields. Community clean up, zero-emission, urban green spaces, water conservancy, and transportation were at the heart of all discussions.

The event included a welcoming speech from Aura Garcia, the Board of Public Works Commissioner. Ines participated in the event with other like-minded organizations’ representatives from all over the country. They utilized the opportunity to communicate, network and share their ideas to be able to reach a shared vision for a cleaner and more sustainable Los Angeles. Together, they discussed innovative solutions to existing risks that endanger the environment.

Ines discussed the importance of integrating and utilizing technology as one of the best available, surefire solutions to overcome many of the city challenges. She also insisted on putting people first and implementing human-centered solutions.

Integrating technology in societies and operating the digital transformation of cities need to ensure not only our wellbeing as a species but also the wellbeing of the environment as a whole.
